This weeklong event is sure to be your favorite week of the year as attendees will have the opportunity to play baseball games that will be coached by ex-MLB players.
In addition, the event will provide the opportunity to get to know the coaches throughout the week in social settings. This inaugural event will celebrate Armando’s 28 Up 28 Down Perfect Game and is sure to be memorable.
This event is made possible through the partnership and support from both the Lee County Board of County Commissioners and the Tourist Development Council.

Premier Experience
The Premier Experience includes a bonus day of activities to be spent with the coaches on-staff on the final day of camp. You can expect a day of golf and other events scheduled for the day to cap-off the memorable week.
What to Expect
Daily baseball games are played (weather permitting) and personalized baseball instruction received from former MLB players who will make the camp memorable both on and off the field. The field of play was previously used by the Boston Red Sox Baseball Club but has since been retired. A uniform top, hat, goodie bag, clubhouse and daily uniform laundry is included and trainers will be on-site should an unforeseen injury occur.
Camp Schedule
The Standard Camp Experience offers five days of 9-inning games and six days of extra-curricular activities, January 7 – January 12. One bonus day of activities is offered (January 13) if the Premier Experience is chosen. All games will be held at the Lee County Player Development Complex and will be called by bonafide umpires. A welcome dinner, breakfast and lunch during the week, additional activities and a closing banquet will be provided as well as a premium hotel stay in highly desirable downtown Fort Myers, FL. Depending on attendance, additional meals may be provided during the week.

What is the level of competition?
The camp is designed for players of all capabilities and competitive spirit. Following the first day of stretching, skills clinics and a scrimmage game, the coaches will draft their teams for the week of games.
Can I bring my spouse, family members or friends?
The Armando Galarraga Baseball Experience is open to family and friends of participants! There is a nominal guest fee associated for each extra guest which will be personally arranged by the staff.
What do I need to bring?
All you need to bring is your baseball glove, white uniform pants, black belt, socks of choice, cleats or running shoes (turf shoes preferred, NO metal spikes). We will provide you with a uniform top, warm-up sweatshirt and a baseball cap. Each team will be fully equipped with batting helmets, catcher's gear and baseballs.
Who is eligible to attend?
Any player, male or female, 21 years of age or older with any range ability is eligible to attend, including those in wheelchairs.
Do campers receive any special recognition?
Absolutely! At the end of the week, coaches will award "Most Valuable Player", "Cy Young", "Gold Glove", "Rookie of the Year" and other recognitions.
What kind of clubhouse and trainer support can I expect?
Our clubhouse crew will have your uniform laundered each day and returned to you each morning. Our athletic trainers will also be available to assist you in working through any injuries, aches or pains that you might encounter during the week.
How much playing time will I get?
You determine your playing time! Every camper will have the opportunity to play every position in the field (if desired) and play up to two games/day. In addition to daily games, Coaches are available to work with you on additional batting practice or other baseball skills at the on-site batting cages or share other “pro” tips that can improve your game.
What type of bats are used at camp and are they provided?
Only wood bats will be permitted at the Armando Galarraga Baseball Experience. The goal is to recreate the MLB experience for all campers and promote a safe environment. We encourage everyone to bring their own personal bat to use (the camp is not responsible for personal bats broken during the games or otherwise.) A limited number of bats will be supplied for use if you do not bring your own.
What is the appropriate attire for camp?
Attire for the camp is casual, although most of your days will be spent at the fields in uniform. For the Welcome Dinner and Awards Banquet, we do ask that everyone wear business casual attire as this will be a special evening of recognition and achievement. The evenings can be cool and we do recommend that you bring a light jacket or sweater. Walking shoes are strongly encouraged as there is a lot to explore in the Fort Myers area in your free time.

Where do we stay while we are in Fort Myers? And what about meals?
Lodging and accommodation will be provided in the Fort Myers area. The Lee County Official Housing Bureau is coordinating with us to obtain the highest quality most ideal hotal available. The registration fee includes your hotel stay for the week. (Double occupancy for all Standard Packages with single occupancy available upon request for an additional fee.) Breakfast and lunch will be provided daily. The Welcome Reception and Closing Banquet are also included. Dinners Monday – Thursday will be left up to the individual.
How much time can I expect to spend with the Coaches and are we allowed to ask for autographs and pictures?
Camp participants will have many opportunities to spend time with coaches, both on and off the field. Campers are welcome to ask staff for photos and autographs during their free time and away from games. A professional photographer will also be available to capture the perfect photo of you in action as well as with your coach and teammates.
